Yes it really is a new post. It has taken me a rather long while but I have managed to do another piece of work. Was great fun to do.
It’s nice to do something a bit more whimsical for a change.

SketchBook Pro 2011

New iPad Sketch using Procreate… 20mins or so.

After a busy couple of months (new baby and new job) I can finally get back to updating the blog or at least attempting to.
I’m going to try and do a 15-20 min sketch every morning and post the results here.

My first little sketch, trying to push my colour knowledge.

Finally got back to doing a little bit of illustration this evening. I’ve had an idea bouncing around my head for a while now and this is the first time I’ve managed to get anything done for it. I think I’ll just leave it at that for now

Animation package Messiah Studio is doing a promotion, 40$ or about £25 for there professional 3D animation software messiahStudio5 PRO EDITION.
The catch is that you only get it when enough people buy it, basically crowd sourced software. It is meant to work well with Modo so for £25 it really is a no brainer.

Hurry before the deal ends, it’s getting close.

This is an app developed by the Bryan brothers, two good friends of mine from work.
They recently left to pursue life outside the games industry.
Ed was an Art Director and Will was a Software Director both worked at Rare Ltd on Banjo Kazooie and Viva Pinata amongst others.
They have crafted a sublime childrens book/app that goes beyond what was available before.
The Three Little Pigs A 3D Fairy Tale – published by a new childrens publisher Nosycrow.

So this is the first post, whatever do you write?
I guess i’ll explain who I am and what I do, then talk about the things i’m going to use this blog for.
Ok here goes…

My name is Andrew James or AJ to everyone but my Mum & Dad. I am married and have two children (only just, my daughter was only born 9 days ago) and we live in the UK around the middle part, both in the north and in the south depending on who you speak to. By trade I am an artist in the computer games industry, creating characters, user interfaces and other pretty pictures.

I hope you have enjoyed the rest of the site, this section entitled simply “blog” will be used to store random musings, current information that I think is interesting and work in progress pictures, plus a load of other stuff that I haven’t thought of yet. Although in reality it’ll probably only contain this and about 3 other posts before I get bored and give up, hopefully not thought…

Anyway I need to go and think of other things to put on this blog, so bye bye.
